Volunteering is a difficult thing to do - we understand -
It means physically doing something not just clicking LIKE on Facebook
Volunteering takes time and that is why we appreciate every little bit of anything that you can give us.
WAYS TO HELP
Not everyone can adopt but the next biggest way to help us is to foster our animals. Fostering an animal, giving it a short term home can help animals who are very stressed in the rescue or who need more TLC than we can give - some animals like kittens need to be picked up and socialised and played with. We sometimes consider long term fostering older or animals with health issues, we meet vet bills.
Please e mail ADOPTIONGAR@yahoo.com
Go to our adoption page the procedure is the same for animal fostering but there are key differences that we will discuss when we contact you.
VOLUNTEER FOR THE RESCUE over 18s only
Cleaning feeding socialising dog walking, office work, building work, painting and decorating and
1001 other things.
Due to Covid19 we are unable to train new volunteers but we are keeping a list of people who will be available when restrictions are lifted.
We are sorry but due to the nature of the rescue we are unable to accommodate the children of volunteers at any time.
FUNDRAISE / DONATE
Due to Covid it is impossible to do the usual things - quizzes / socials / sponsored events / bake sales -
But our imaginative fundraisers have come up with other ideas
- Selling things on ebay and donating their sales
- Making and selling jewellery, decorations and candles and donating the proceeds
- Telling everyone about Garston Animal Rescue and getting then to support us by donating cat food, litter and toys.
- Give up buying chocolate, cakes, wine and donate what you save.
- Save your loose change for a month
